Unified Vailsburg Services Organization (UVSO) is one of twelve (12) grantees state-wide to receive CARES Act funds through the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) Program.
The COVID-19 Relief Program is a $3.1 million special program that provides organizations with NRTC neighborhood plans with funding for eligible COVID-19 response activities and costs. The program aims to promote the continued recovery and revitalization of NRTC communities in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, with a special emphasis on supporting vulnerable small businesses.
Having received one of the two (2) largest grant awards in the State, UVSO is poised to disburse over $600,000 in grant funds to businesses in the Vailsburg neighborhood that were adversely impacted during the pandemic.
UVSO’s effort will complement the strategic planning currently underway at the Partnership West Inc. Business Improvement District (PWI), of which UVSO is a board member. As part of its neighborhood revitalization efforts, UVSO’s infusion of grant funds to small businesses – many of which may not have been able to access other emergency relief funds – will, hopefully, be a catalyst to strengthening the community’s commercial corridors and overall economic vitality.
If you are a small business owner in need of assistance, complete the PWI survey and submit the preliminary application below for consideration.
